Stanley Cursiter (1887-976) was an artist who lived in Orkney before he moved south to study art and design. He used his talents in the First World War and map printing and went on to be Keeper and then Director of the National Galleries, and was a successful painter in both landscapes and portraits. This is my take on his futurist masterpiece, (before futurist was a bad word), with a local twist of Wick. Several of his paintings have had a big effect on me.
