Over the Christmas holidays the weather wasn\'t great. One day we were cooped up, and we started to get \'cabin fever\'. We took the car out a drive; it had been snowing and there was a sharp cold wind.
We drove out of Wick heading north. As you approach John O\'Groats from the A99 there is a couple of lay-bys and we pulled over and admired the snow swept view looking out over Stroma. Heading into John O\'Groats it started to get darker, and we watched the flashing lights of 4 or 5 lighthouses. Audrey said that she had never seen a lighthouse with the light working before!
We drove back, colder but the better for it.
This was originally intended to be a watercolour sketch, but I quite liked how it turned out.
